The Challenge
The under bench freezer was no longer maintaining temperature due to restricted airflow across the evaporator. Key challenges included: Heavy ice build-up on the evaporator coil; Restricted airflow reducing cooling performance; Risk of temperature instability for stored product; Need to restore operation promptly in a working commercial environment; and Requirement to confirm no secondary fault with fans or air movement components
Our Solution
Acro Refrigeration carried out targeted fault diagnosis and corrective works to restore normal airflow and cooling. Key actions included: Inspection of the evaporator and identification of full ice build-up; Forced defrost to safely clear accumulated ice Straightening of evaporator fins to improve air passage across the coil; Testing and confirmation that both evaporator fans were operating correctly; and Final operational checks to verify restored airflow and freezer performance
